NEW EXHIBITION AT THE ''SERENA ART CENTER''

An explosion of colors amazed me upon entering the Vita&Bella gallery, the talented artist Hermes Kondor was able to dazzle those present with his sparkling colors, in the exhibition entitled ''Characters'' the people who crowded the various rooms seemed stuck observing those colors and those wonderful paintings. Below I attach his story and the note he gave me to make it known to everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hermes Kondor (aka Luis Vasconcelos) from Lisbon, Portugal Professional photographer and photojournalist, with a degree in Photography by AR.CO, Superior School of Arts in Lisbon. With more than forty years of professional photography, I worked for a daily newspaper, for several news agencies, and as a photographer and photo-editor in several magazines. Former teacher of photography and photojournalism. In RL, I had the opportunity to exhibit my work in different Art Galleries, in Portugal, and also in Belgium (Brussels), where I showed a a sponsored project project about the traditional commerce, and shops, in Portugal. Several books were published with these photos.

In 2017 I was awarded with the International Olympus Award for Macro Photography. As a former photojournalist, I learned photography in a very generic and practical way. I'm a generalist photographer, and so I try to do my best in different kinds of photography. I also worked on experimental macro photography projects, in studio, creating very small still life compositions. In this kind of Photography I like to explore the Beauty of seeing closer, finding new perspectives, and different ways to see small objects. Now, since 2022, I'm very interested on exploring, studying, and developing different projects in AI generative image creation.

In Second Life since 2007, I'm the owner and curator of the Kondor Art Center, where, in several different art galleries, and other spaces, you can see some of my works and new projects, and also the work of my guest Artists.

"Extra Ordinary Characters" It's a very symbolic, and meaningful art project that delves into the profound interplay of the ordinary and the extraordinary within human experience. The narrative explores how seemingly mundane individuals embody exceptional qualities, often unnoticed amidst their routine lives. This exhibition symbolizes the latent potential within every one of us, of transformation and adaptation suggesting that that being extraordinary / different isn't reserved for a select few but is an inherent possibility within everyone. The characters, through their unique quirks and hidden talents, represent the diversity of human capabilities and the richness of individual stories. Their journeys often reflect broader themes of self-discovery, resilience, and the pursuit of meaning in life. The extraordinariness of these characters challenges societal norms and expectations, guiding the visitors to reconsider their definitions of existing in a very often hostile society, and all we need to do to adapt to it, respecting anyone inherent difference, fostering a deeper connection to the world around them. In essence, "Extra Ordinary Characters" is a very symbolic presentation of human potential, inviting visitors to recognize and nurture the exceptional qualities within themselves and others. Through its deep and symbolic narrative, I hope that this exhibition inspires a renewed appreciation for the intricate tapestry of ordinary lives, when facing extraordinary challenges and, some times very hard, realities. IN THE DARKNESS OF THE NIGHT what happened to me I look around in amazement what world am I in? everything is dark around me only the cawing of crows fluttering, they fly towards the distant sky in a clearing of the fog a dark, terrifying castle but at the same time fantastic with its sharp towers a segment of moon illuminates it momentarily peeking out from among the black clouds up there on the hill at the bottom of the valley with dead trees, gravestones a man in a strange suit glittering with a thousand sequins it appears to me he looks like a clown from an old circus with a strange pointed hat borrowed from some witch it makes him evil and makes him enigmatic I'm there, speechless, terrified He looks at me mockingly with a cynical smile he tells me: I am a character of CHARACTERS
